The Entertainments designed for performance This Evening, at ASTLEY’s, Westminster-Bridge, consist principally of the four new Pieces advertised in our last publication, and which we may safely venture to assert, in point of variety, were never equalled: hence arises the cause of their further continuation. The Indian Triumph beings to our view the customs and manners of a very remote nation, and embraces much information, highly entertaining to those who never breathe any other air than this. The Destruction of the gang of Forty Thieves, by a Woman, is a fine lesson on female heroism. Reconciliation impresses on the mind that no sacrifice can over-rate its attainment; and the Genii of the Deep is an incontestable proof that ASTLEY is the first Pantomime-maker in the world.
