ASTLEY’S.—The performances at this Theatre are of the most attractive nature, and cannot fail to prove highly interesting to its visitors. The exhibitions in the Circle of the Amphitheatre are truly wonderful. DUCROW himself is the most agile equestrian that ever stood upon the back of a horse; we say stood, because with him there is very little sitting; he performs the whole of his astonishing evolutions whilst his horse is wheeling round the arena with inconceivable rapidity; then again, there are out two facetious friends the Clowns, whose presence is almost necessary to our theatrical existence; their “whims and oddities” make “the gay laugh and the grave smile.” The house meets its share of patronage in the present unfavourable season for theatricals: they have had the “questionable” Chin-Chopper, BOAI, here during the last week
