Binding	Pre-bound paperbook, likely. Stretches of blank pages ff. 90v–123v and ff. 148v–191. Plain vellum pasted on boards.
Hands	Single, with some additions to fill in blank sections.
Indications of use	Printed pieces pasted in may have been inserted at a later date, using blank pages. Also handwritten medical receipts, and some other bits of information seem to be later additions, sometimes pasted in – some of these also written or pasted-in sideways; some are foldout.
Item formatting	The first portion of the book uses a spiral device vertically down the page at the ends of items that end in mid-page; later, some items use a similar spiral mark, but it is oriented horizontally at the ends of items.
Original poetry	Maybe, but not obviously. Some shorter, unattributed items like On the Scotch Pavement (f. 124v) might be original - they are not in the First Line Index, though this might just be due to their length.
Page layout	Paginated (by the compiler, in the first section of the book).
