ASTLEY’s AMPHITHEATRE RIDING-HOUSE,

Westminster-bridge.

This Evening, the 5th of September, 1780.

FOR this night only Mr. NEVIT will, in the course of his performances, take a surprising leap over twelve mens [sic] heads, one before the other, and many other performances too numerous to particularize. Great care will be taken to render the evenings diversions truly entertaining.

And also the following pleasing amusements, with many new additions, never exhibited in London.

Part I. will consist of

Horsemanship on a single horse, my Mr. Griffin, Mr. Jones, Mr. Miller, &c.

Part II.

THE LILIPUTIAN WORLD:

Or, CHINESE SHADOWS,

The whole being adapted to the place of exhibition.

Scene I. the Merry Cobler, [sic] a new scene, with songs. Scene II. the curious Hornpipe Dancer. Scene III. the Militia Man; or, the Hen Peck’d Weaver, with songs, and a striking view of the camp. Scene VI. the Lion Catchers. Scene V. the Broken Bridge. Scene VI. the Grinder, a new scene. Scene VII. the Storm, &c.

N.B. The vocal parts by Mr. Connell, Mr. Wilkinson, and Mrs. Nathan.

Between the acts of the Chinese Shadows will be presented an Exhibition, called

THE THRATRE OF FLORENCE,

In new artificial Fire-Work, without powder, noise, smell, or smoke.

The Music to the several pieces entirely new, composed by an eminent Master.

Part III. Horsemanship on two, three, and four horses.

Part IV. Tumbling, and other agility of body, by Mr. Nevit, Mr. Porter, Mr. Dawson, Mr. Garman—Clown Mr. Burt.

Mr. Nevit will turn himself round as swift as a fly of a jack, with two pieces of fire-works fixed to his feet.

Part V. Polander’s tricks on chairs, ladders, &c.

Part VI. Different leaps, with two horses, over the bar.

Part VII. Slack-rope vaulting on full swing, in different attitudes.

Part VIII. The Egyptian Pyramids.

Part IX. The Clown on Horseback, with several parts of horsemanship burlesqued, by Mr. Miller.

The whole to conclude with the Taylor riding on the dancer, the hunter, and road horse, by Mr. Griffin, in character.

Doors to be opened at half past five, to begin at half past six o’clock precisely. Admittance, Box 2s. 6d. Upper Box 1s. 6d. Put and Gal 1s.
