THIS present THURSDAY, Oct. 4, will be presented, for the first time at this Theatre, a new grand Historical Serious Spectacle, called VETERAN; or, The Maresehal de Logis. Principal Characters—Louis Gillet, the Veteran, Mons. Robert la Toise; Colin, Annette’s Sweetheart, Mr. Taylor; Two Chief Robbers, Messrs. Gouriet and Boulange; Lord of the Manor, Mr. Dickinson; Grotesque Peasant, Mr. Fox; Simkin Peasant, Mr. J. Dubois; Michant, Father to Annette, Mr. De Castro; Adolphus, Son of the Lord of the Manor, Miss Fisher; Mrs. Michant, Mother of Annette, Mrs. Wallack; and (by permission of the proprietors of the Royal circus) Annette, Madam Volange. Equestrian Exercises, by Messrs. Jeffries and Porter. In the course of the Evening, a Caledonian Ballet of Action, composed by Mons. Gouriet, called CUNNING AGAINST ART; a Grand Panorama View of Edinburgh, in which Mrs. Herbert will sing the much admired Song, “Within a Mile of Edinburgh Town.” Miss Grayson, pupil of Mons. Gouriet, will dance a new Tambourine Pas Seul. In the course of the Evening, Mr. Lawrence will, for this night only, Fly over a Garter, twelve feet high, twenty-four Grenadiers, six Horses, and through a Balloon suspended in the air. The whole to conclude with, for the last week of its being performed, the popular Pantomime of THE ENCHANTED HALL; or, The Parthian Harlequin.
