Yesterday ASTLEY’s Annual Wherry, given in honour of his MAJESTY’s Birth-day, was rowed for by the following Free Watermen:--

1. CHARLES GINGELL       -           -           Temple.

2. THOMAS DUFFIN           -           -           Lambeth.

3. DANIEL MALLET            -           -           Cupar’s Bridge.

4. JOHN RIDER        -           -           -           Iron Gate.

5. ALEXANDER ASHLEY              -           Iron Gate.

6. GEORGE HUTCHINGS   -           -           Rotherhithe.

At starting, DANIEL MALLET took the lead, and kept it the whole way: ASHLEY second. Towards the Bridge, THOMAS DUFFIN, with great dexterity and management, passed ASHLEY, and arrived second. The second heat was warmly contested between DANIEL MALLET and THOMAS DUFFIN, when the former was proclaimed victor, and received the Prize at the Amphitheatre in its customary manner. The river was covered with boats, and the shores were thronged with spectators.
