CORONER’s INQUEST—Mr. MONTOLIEU.—An Inquest was taken yesterday at eleven o’clock, by Mr. JEMMETT, Coroner for Surrey, at the New Inn Coffee-house, Westminster-bridge, on the body of THOMAS MONTOLIEU, Esq. deceased, who expired on Tuesday evening at ASTLEY’s Amphitheatre.—ROBERT NURNSIDE, of the Box-office, at the Theatre, deposed, that soon after six o’clock on Tuesday evening, the deceased, with another person in his company, came to the Theatre, and the deceased paid him half-a-guinea for the admission of both; while he was giving him the change, he perceived the deceased put his hand across his eyes, apparently as if he was seized with a giddiness, and almost immediately fell against the door, and on the ground. The witness ran to assist up, when he appeared a little recovered, and was seated on a chair, but relapsed into a sort of fainting fit; medical assistance was sent for, but he expired in ten minutes. The Assistant to Mr. Pentington, who attended the unfortunate Gentleman, gave it as his opinion, that the Gout in his stomach was the immediate cause of his death.—Under these occurrences, the Jury found a verdict—Died by the visitation of God.
