ROWING MATCH.—Yesterday Astley’s Annual Wherry, given in honour of his Majesty’ Birth-day, was rowed for by the following Watermen:--

Thomas Duffin,           -           Lambeth.

Jon Evans,       -           -           Tower.

Edward Cross, -          -           Battle Bridge.

John Oldfield, -           -           Hungerford.

Daniel Snaw,               -           Horsleydown.

Abraham Lock,           -           Stangate.

The above Boats started from Westminster Bridge at four o’clock. Abraham Lock took the lead, but was closely followed by John Evans and John Oldfield; the later, however, on returning from Vauxhall, passed Evans off Lambeth Palace, and pushed Lock very much the first Heat.

The 2d Heat took place at half past five, when after a well and contested Match, the Boat was won by Lock, who received it at the Royal Amphitheatre, which was crowded in every part with repeated huzzas.

The River was covered with pleasure and other boats; among whom were, their Graces the Duke and Duchess of Manchester, Earl Craven, and numerous other fashionables; the opposite shores were thronged with spectators.
