At Mr Astleys Riding School next the white Horse Lambeth 
Marsh. Gentlemen & Ladies are taught a true & perfect
seat on Horseback.  There is no creature which yields so 
much profit & pleasure as the Horse; and if he is made obed[ient]
to the hand & spur it is the chief thing that is aimed at 
He undertakes to break the most vicious horse in the Kingdom 
for the Road or Field, to stand Fire, Drums &c. & those inten
ded for Ladies to canter easy.  his method between the 
Jockey & Manage is peculiar to himself   no Gentleman 
need despair of being a complete Horseman that follows 
his directions. having nine Years practiced in Lieut[enant] Gen[era]
Elliotts regiment & some part of the time under the inspection 
of Lord Pembroke, at his riding school at Wilton.  his 
terms are moderate, hours of riding from 6 till 2 oclock &
no longer as he performs Twenty different feats of activity 
every Ev[enin]g at [xxxx] Six – Good Stabling with  proper care 
NB  For half a guinea he makes known his method of learning 
any horse to lay down at the Word of Command, and 
defies any man to equal it for safety & ease
