The Model of the City of Paris, exhibited at Astley’s, strikes every beholder; every thing strictly considering with the customs and manners of the French. The siege of the Bastille, by Astley, gives us a sketch of his military talents: well might General Elliot, now Lord Heathfield, notice him, and reward his services in the wars in Germany; the Public have now an opportunity of seeing Astley in his element, and it is beyond a doubt, they will reward him very amply for his ingenuity. The manoeuvres of the soldiers, from beginning to end, are French; who but Astley could instruct them? In short, the business of the Bastille is so regularly conducted, that officers of all ranks are seen in the Boxes, whispering to the Ladies the use of such and such manoeuvres.
