INTELLIGENCE FROM ASTLEY’s.

Beautiful, beyond description, was the ROYAL NAVAL REVIEW, performed, for the first time, last night at Astley’s:---indeed it was more than could possibly be expected to be seen on any Theatre, when the reader figures to himself a squadron of men of war, not in profile, but as in reality, with all their sails and rigging compleat [sic], manoeuvring, forming the line on the starboard and larboard tacks, firing broadsides, &c. as in real action. The thought of the female rowers also produces a most pleasing effect, and was well received: in short, the whole of this splendid spectacle proves Astley’s assiduity and unremitting attention to be ever foremost in producing the newest and most popular subjects for the amusement of the public.
