Great numbers could not get admittance, last night, at Astley’s, which overflowed in every quarter. Besides a profusion of excellent Entertainments, a new musical piece was brought out, called “She could be a Soldier,” which has infinite merit; with regard to the language and music, the latter by Mr. Gehot, does him great credit as a Composer, and would do honour to any Theatre:--the parts were exceedingly well supported by the different performers, who met with universal applause. It was given out for a second representation this evening, for the benefit of Mr. Adams, the original Rossignol, who will, for this night only, perform his surprising imitations of various birds, and a grand symphony, &c.
