FOR THE BENEFIT of Mr. DECASTRO.

Mr. ASTLEY is just returned from Paris, with incontestable proofs, that the Westminster Bridge Representation of the Siege, Storming, and Surrender of the Bastile, on the 14th of July last, is strictly conformable to the particular circumstances of that day, and the only one so in London. Places of public amusement having totally and differently represented the Bastile, made Mr. Astley anxious to give his patrons the best authenticated information. He can assure them, that no unmilitary-like combustibles, such as Roman Candles, Squibs, or Skyrocket-stars were made use of. The idea of subduing a Fortress by such amusements for children is absurd, and of a piece with the rest of the business of the Love Story, &c. which never existed but in the author’s brains in London.

Mr. ASTLEY has brought with him, finely executed in wax, by a celebrated artist in Paris, the heads of Monsieur De Launay, late Governor of the Bastille, and Monsieur De Fleselles, Prevot des Merchands of Paris; with incontestable proofs of their being striking likenesses. The Heads will be exhibited This Evening in the same manner as they were by the Bourgeoisie, and French Guards. He has also brought with him a compleat [sic] uniform of the armed citizens, who are at this time exercising themselves in the further use of arms in every part of Paris (his Riding-School not excepted.) Mr. Astley will appear This Evening in the above uniform, leading the citizens and soldiers to the attack of the Bastille.
