The Ombres Chinoises brought out at Astleys, promises to have as great a run as ever;--indeed, they are well managed, producing a very pleasing effect, and serve to make a variety in the performances (at the Royal Grove) already so numerous.—Neither can we omit mentioning the last scene in the entertainment, called Harlequin’s Choice, representing the redoubt Chinoise, which is a very capital production in point of stage effect; the colonnade, grotto, and other curious devices, a-la-Chinoise, are highly pleasing, and well executed.—The horsemanship, by young Astley and pupils, as usual, is very great, and the whole well worth seeing.
