Biographical Notes David Coleridge was a writer who was the son of Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Moved to London from the Lake District to establish himself as a writer. Published a few successful works; but ultimately died in poverty.
Biographical Annotation Hartley Coleridge was an English poet and essayist, the eldest son on Samuel Taylor Coleridge. He was raised in the Lake District in the vale of Derwentwater, often under the care of the poet Robert Southey. Hartley was homeschooled, and traveled widely with his father. He attended Oxford for several years beginning in 1815, but his scholastic career was hindered by alcoholism. He wrote periodically for Blackwoods, and was contracted by the Leeds publisher F. E. Bingley to write the biographies of Yorkshire and Lancaster worthies. He died just ten years after his father, in 1849. [info from ODNB and Wikipedia]
