London, April 24. -- New York newspapers state that Lord Sholto George Douglas, youngest son of the Marquis of Queensbery, and brother of Lord Alfred Bruce Douglas, who was the cause of the Oscar Wilde scandal, has been arrested in California on a charge of insanity in order to prevent his marriage with a waitress in the State.

[Lord Sholto Douglas, who was born in 1872, is a lieutenant in the 4th Battalion of the Northamptonshire Regiment. He was for some time lately in West Australia, where he is largely interested in mining, especially at Coolgardie.]
