LONDON, June 6.— Oscar Wilde when first sent to prison was put to work for six hours daily on the treadmill. At present, however, owing to sickness, he is engaged at picking oakum.

The governor of the gaol in which he is confined denies the report that Wilde has become insane.

The governor of the gaol in which Oscar Wilde is confined denies that Wilde is insane.

At first the convict was kept at the treadmill for six hours a day, but as his health is not good he is at present engaged in the lighter occupation of picking oakum.
