Oscar Wilde's application for his release from custody on bail has been successful.

Latest development of the Oscar Wilde trial is perhaps not wholly unexpected. The jury were unable to agree to a verdict, and were discharged. Wilde, who will be tried again, was remanded.

The judge in the Oscar Wilde case thought it necessary to warn the jury against confounding the accused author with the creations of his brain who figured in his books. His Lordship's charge occupied three hours.
