Ces deux cautions ayant été acceptées, Oscar Wilde a été mis en liberté à deux heures et demie.
Il a quitté Bow Street par une porte dérobée et, montant dans un cab avec deux de ses amis, il a disparu rapidement sans qu’aucun des journalistes présents ait pu lui parler.
