At London Bankruptcy court yesterday Mr. Grain applied for an adjournment in the case of Oscar Wilde. The debtor, said counsel, had filed a statement which disclosed the total indebtedness as £8,581, with substantially no assets. Several of Wilde’s friends, however, had subscribed about £1,000, and, as others had also promised sums, sufficient would be forthcoming to pay all outsiders 20s in the pound, with the exception of the largest creditor, a friend of the debtor. The examination was adjourned to November 12th.
