Paris, April 17 — A duel with swords was fought today between two well-known writers, Jules Huret and Catulle Mendes, arising from the fact that the former connected the latter’s name with that of Oscar Wilde. M. Mendes was slightly wounded.

Catulle Mendes is a well-known French author and dramatist. He is the author of many novels and several dramatic words, including the comic opera "Le Capitaine Fracasse."
