It may be true that a movement is on foot to obtain the signatures of Emile Zola, Alphonse Daudet, M de Goncourt, Francis Coppee, M Heredia, the Countess de Mirabeau and other distinguished litterateurs to an international petition for the release of Oscar Wilde from prison, but it is not easy to believe that such a petition would have much effect.
