The Morning Post denies the report that Oscar Wilde is insane and claims that he has never been confined to a padded room. It asserts
that Wilde has started to work on the tread mill according to the usual prison discipline at Pentonvllle. After a few days he was sent to the infirmary,
where it was found that he was suffering from melancholia and a trouble of the stomach. The disorder of the stomach ceased after two days in the hospital
and Wilde returned to the prison greatly relieved. He is now at work picking oakum. His melancholia continues, but otherwise his health is fair.
