London, June 5 — The Morning Post denies the report that Oscar Wilde is insane, and claims that he has never been confined in a padded
room. It asserts that Wilde was started to work at the treadmill according to the usual prison discipline at Pentonville. After a few days he was sent to
the infirmary, where it was found be was suffering from melancholia a trouble of the stomach. The disorder of the stomach ceased after two days in the
hospital, and Wilde returned to prison feeling greatly relieved. He is now at work picking oakum. His melancholia continues, but otherwise bit health is
fair.
