A correspondent learns that since his conviction and removal to Pentonville Jail Oscar Wilde’s health has become so seriously
affected that there seems every probability of his being soon in the infirmary. The hard labour duties are very heavy, and it is improbable that Wilde
will be able to continue them for any length of time. Already Wilde has grown much thinner, and since his conviction he has preserved, it is said, a
settled melancholy and reticence. He has had great difficulty in getting sleep, and from time to time he loudly bemoans the bitterness of his fate.
