At the Bankruptcy Court to-day Mr Grain applied for an adjournment in the case of Oscar Wilde. The debtor, said counsel, had filed a statement which disclosed the total indebtedness of £3,591, with substantially no assets. Several of Wilde's friends, however, had subscribed about a thousand pounds, and as others had also promised sums, sufficient would be forthcoming to pay all outsiders twenty shillings in the pound, with the exception of the largest creditor, a friend of the debtor.
