TOPICS OF THE WEEK.
(FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT.)
LONDON, APRIL 5.

The one subject of the week has been the Oscar Wilde v. Queensberry libel case. It has been a shocking revelation of immoralities among a West End set, of whom the world has often heard whispers. The lily of æstheticism has been sadly soiled. If he has not already escaped to the Continent - for he left the court very hurriedly when his counsel threw up the sponge – he will most likely be arrested before many hours are past. The police have been shadowing Oscar Wilde for several days, so that he may not find it easy to escape.
