THE LONDON SCANDAL
Second Trial
Charges Taken Seperately.
Wilde Remanded--The Case Against
Taylor--The Defence.

London, May 20.

The charges against Oscar Wilde and his alleged accomplice (Taylor) were called on at the Central Criminal Court to-day. Before the cases were tried it was suggested by counsel for Wilde that the accused should be tried separately, and it was decided to hear the charges apart from each other. Wilde was then remanded, and subsequently liberated on bail the same as previously.

The trial of Taylor was proceeded [...] Sir Frank Lockwood, Q.C., is conducting the prosecution on this [...].

The evidence given was merely a repetition of that at the trial of Wilde and Taylor during the early part of the month.

The case for the defence is based on the allegation that the man Parker, who will be the chief witness for the Crown is a tainted witness, and therefore unreliable. The hearing had not concluded when the court rose for the day.
