The jury disagreed in the case of Mr. Oscar Wilde and the prisoner was re-committed to Holloway Gaol, bail being refused. However, motion was made to the Court of Appeal by the prisoner's solicitors, and that court having satisfied itself as to the standing of the bails offered, ordered the release of Mr. Wilde—the Rev. Steward Headlam and Viscount Drumlanrig (son of Lord Queensberry) becoming securities.
