OSCAR WILDE
SEEKS A POSTPONEMENT.
REQUEST REFUSED.
LONDON. Wednesday Night.

An application was made to-day for a postponement of the trial of Oscar Wilde who was committed by the Bow street Magistrates last week, and against whom, this week, the Grand Jury found a true bill.

Wilde is charged with a misdemeanor, said to have been associated with certain alleged abominable practices brought to light at the trial of the Marquis of Queensberry on an abortive charge of criminal libel.

The application for the postponement of the trial was refused.
