THE WILDE SCANDAL.
SENTENCE ON PRISONERS.
TWO YEARS IMPRISONMENT.
"TOTALLY INADEQUATE
SENTENCE."
London, May 25.

The trial of Oscar Wilde for alleged grave criminal offences was concluded to-day. The jury found the prisoner guilty.

Mr. Justice Wills then sentenced Wilde to two years imprisonment. He also meted out similar punishment to the man Taylor, sentence upon whom had been deferred.

The Judge occupied three hours in summing up, and the jury were absent from Court for two hours.

Mr. Justice Wills regretted that he was able to send Wilde and Taylor to prison for two years only, the sentence being totally inadequate.
