THE QUEENSBERRY
FAMILY.
SCENE IN PICADILLY.
THE MARQUIS CHASTISES LORD
ALFRED DOUGLAS.
FATHER AND SON ARRESTED.
London, May 21.

A scene was caused in Piccadilly to-day, when the Marquis of Queensberry chastised his son, Lord Alfred Douglas, whose name has figured prominently in the Wilde cases.

The police interfered, arresting both father and son. The Marquis and Lord Alfred Douglas were afterwards admitted to bail.

London, May 22.

It appears that Lord Alfred Douglas began the quarrel by calling the Marquis a liar and a slanderer. The latter eventually knocked his son down. Lord Alfred soon regained his feet and there followed a furious struggle till the police separated the combatants.

A large crowd who witnessed the proceedings heartily cheered the Marquis.
