Mr. Elkin Mathews writes to us from Vigo-street, W. "You mention in your report that the young man Shelley was introduced to Mr. Oscar Wilde by one of the partners of the publishing firm of Mathews and Lane, Vigo-street, Allow me to say that I know nothing of Mr. Oscar Wilde except in a business capacity by publishing his `Lady Windermere's Fan,' &c., and never introduced Shelley or any person to him in my life, nor knew that he had been introduced. I may mention that for several months I have ceased to be the publisher of any of Mr. Oscar Wilde's books."
