CENTRAL CRIMINAL COURT.--The May sessions of this Court were opened yesterday at the Old Bailey. There were 97 persons for trial, and the calendar included two cases of murder, two of manslaughter, 16 of burglary, seven of conspiracy, and eight of robbery with violence. Before Mr. Justice Wills, Oscar Wilde and Alfred Taylor were placed at the bar to take their trial upon those counts of the indictment against them of which the jury had been unable to agree at the last sessions. Counsel for the prisoners applied that they should be tried separately. The Solicitor-General opposed the application, but his Lordship acceded to it, and, as the prosecution decided to proceed first with Taylor's case, Wilde was allowed out on bail. The case against Taylor was then heard, and after counsel had addressed the jury on his behalf the hearing was adjourned.
