CENTRAL CRIMINAL COURT.--Before Mr. Justice Wills the trial of Oscar Wilde on charges under the Criminal Law Amendment Act was concluded. After the Solicitor-General had closed his reply for the prosecution his Lordship summed up at considerable length, and the jury, after deliberating for over two hours, returned with a verdict of guilty on [...] of the eight charges of the indictment. An application by Sir E. Clarke that sentence should be postponed till next sessions was refused, and, the prisoner Taylor having been placed in the dock, Wilde and he were each sentenced to two years' hard labour, which his Lordship said was the severest penalty the law permitted.
