True Bill Against Wilde.

London, April 22.- The grand jury today found a true bill against Oscar Wilde, and his trial was set down for Friday next at the Old Bailey. The settlement of so early a date for Oscar Wilde’s trial is thought to be due to the popular clamor for the rapid cleaning away of this stench in the nostrils of the English people. There is little doubt that the intense resentment felt by the population will be unsatisfied with anything short of swift and sure conviction and punishment of the whilom idol of the aesthetes. On the other hand, it must not be thought that Wilde is alone without friends or sympathy, and that no effort will be made in his belief, to secure deferment of the trial. He has disciples yet.
