OSCAR WILDE PRACTICES.

Indianapolis, April 20 — A sensation was sprung here yesterday by the arrest of Dewitt D. Nay, 56 years of age, well known in the city, and prominently connected with a large business house, on a charge of practicing base crimes. The police for some time have been watching a certain block in the heart of the city, supposing that a gambling room was in operation there. This morning three officers burst into a room on the upper floor and upon the evidence in sight the arrest was made. The apartment was handsomely furnished, and occupied by a colored man. The place, it is now cleared, has been frequented by prominent men, who met youths there and indulged in the practices that characterized the Oscar Wilde affair. Nay refused to talk, but the evidence seems convincing against him. Many boys have told revolting tales of their visits to the place. Other arrests will probably follow.
