WILDE AND TAYLOR.
Probability that the Case Will Not Go to Trial Immediately.

London, May 20 — The spring session of the Central criminal court opened on Monday with Justice Charles presiding. The principal case on the docket is that of Oscar Wilde and Taylor, his associate on whose previous trial the jury disagreed. The government, however, has not yet decided whether or not the defendants shall be put on their trial at this session. Should any attempt he made to force the case an application for a postponement will be made by Sir Edward Clark, on the ground that the burden and pressure of those engaged in the case have been very great, and that it would not be just to either the defendants or counsel to force them (the former) to trial immediately.

LATER

The court granted Wilde a separate trial on request of Sir Edward Clarke. Taylor’s case is now proceeding. Wilde’s case will likely go over to the next session of the court. There is only a slight chance for conviction.
