LONDON ECHOES.
FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.

LONDON, May 20.

A good many rumours were in circulation early this morning as to the Oscar Wilde case, but none of them proved correct. Mr. Wilde, in company with his sureties, surrendered himself prompt to the moment, and so far as I could learn in court all the witnesses were in attendance, though rumour would have it that the most important one from the point of view of the prosecution had left the country. Mr. Wilde still looks terribly ill. He appears to have derived little benefit from his brief spell of freedom. The drawn face with its deadly pallor indicates that the prisoner has suffered acutely from mental distress and anxiety since his first appearance in court.
