Preparations for the Cornell
Crew––Oscar Wilde Reported
To Be Insane.
Wilde Practically Insane.
[BY THE HERALD'S SPECIAL WIRE.]

LONDON, June 5.––There was no exaggeration in the account published in Monday’s HERALD of the manner in which Oscar Wilde has taken his imprisonment. He became almost frantic when handed over to the prison barber, other alarming symptoms followed and I hear that he is now confined in a padded room and is to all intents and purposes insane. Sir Edward Clarke intends taking the first opportunity of arguing before the Courts the motion as to whether the proceedings against Wilde were regular.
