CASUAL NOTES
EVENING MAIL OFFICE, Wednesday.

The fracas between the Marquis of Queensberry and his hopeful scion in Piccadilly yesterday was a ludicrous episode in a revolting drama. It was a novel spectacle, even to members of the Pelican Club, and the variegated eye which the young lord carried away with him was a proof that he is only a poor chip of the old block; for it cannot be supposed that it was filial forbearance which made him leave no other mark of his prowess upon his father than a damaged hat. It was not an exhibition of aristocratic habits likely to command respect for the peerage, and it is to be regretted that instead of being let out on bail to appear in the police court to-day they were not both locked up for the night.
