OSCAR WILDE'S CASE

The jury empanelled on the Oscar Wilde case disagreed in their verdict. It is rumoured five were for his acquittal and seven for his conviction. He has been recommitted without bail for trial at the next session of the Central Criminal Court. This unsatisfactory result is said to be attributed to the lenient charge by the Judge overinfluencing a youthful jury.
