Oscar Wilde and Alfred Taylor again appeared at Bow Street yesterday morning. Mr. Gill conducted the case for the Treasury. Wilde was defended by Mr. Travers Humphreys, barrister, and Mr A. Newton appeared for Taylor. Mr. Travers Humphreys applied for bail on behalf of Wilde, but the magistrate, having regard to the gravity of the charges, refused to accede to the application, and formally committed the prisoners for trial at the Central Criminal Court.
