THEATRICAL NEWS IN BRIEF.

A play of Oscar Wilde’s was recently taken from a London theater to make room for a new comedy by Henry Arthur Jones. Wilde's play is described by Harold Frederick in his London letter to the New York Times as a pure, refreshing and altogether delightful play, while Jones' play is set down as dirty, vulgar and altogether leaving a bad taste in the mouth. The world is full of contradictions. Mr. Jones is a man of high morals and lofty ambitions. Mr. Wilde is not.
