A STATEMENT of the condition of Oscar Wilde's finances has recently been made, showing his liabilities to be $17,955, with no available assets. Wilde's income has averaged $10,000 a year from his literary and dramatic work. Some of this money must have gone to his lawyer. The rest of it probably has been squandered upon his beastly practices. It will add to the Marquis of Queensberry's dislike for this creature that now he will have to pay the costs of his own defense which the court ordered Wilde to pay.
